Toraja Rantekarua
It has a unique bitterness and deep body not found in Central American coffee, as well as a rich and elegant aroma.
Coffee is grown in the foothills of Mount Rantekarua, at an altitude of 2,300m, with a large temperature difference between 1,450m and 1,600m. The beans are washed with clean, abundant water and the fermentation process is carefully controlled, resulting in a stable production of high-quality coffee.
These organically grown green beans are certified organic by the Japanese Organic JAS and are grown without the use of any chemical fertilizers or pesticides. They are also grown without genetically modified seeds. They are managed without the use of any chemicals in any process, including transportation (by ship), storage, or the manufacturing process (roasting and packaging). Because they are committed to quality, production is low, and they are called the "phantom coffee."
